I happen to be lucky enough to have both of my college majors be terrifyingly applicable to one of my favorite hobbies: Table Top RPGs. So, for the last few years I’ve been making a assets and cheat sheets and maps and center pieces for both myself and my players.
In the game Invisible Sun, I wrote a twelve page character background for my Weaver Mage, Elias Ainsworth: The Lord of Thorns. After writing everything, the thought crossed my mind: I can make this look dope as hell. So I did.
Tales from the Loop won five Ennies in 2017 for Best Game, Best Setting, Best Writing, Best Internal Art and Product of the Year. So when I took the helm and decided to run the game for my friends I HAD to deliver an immaculately designed cheat sheet for my players. I may have gone over-board when I made a 40×30 inch map of my hometown of Allentown for the setting of the game.
In Dungeons and Dragons I got crafty and made a center piece for whenever we met it had a skull, a candle, alchemy ingredients, letters from NPCs in game, magic circles, scrolls, as well as custom made potion bottles and a world map.
